Kulturbruket på Dal, Mellerud
The Turkish eleven-piece orchestra Hezarfen Ensemble presents a concert that opens a window for reflection on human destiny. They focus on the peoples, near and within Turkey's borders, who have been displaced by war from the last century to today. Through poetry, images and music, this program highlights the consequences of idealistic political agendas and nation-building projects.
In addition to Turkish composers, the experimental music ensemble also meets Swedish composers Anne Pajunen, Mansoor Hosseini and Katarina Barruk through new works born out of similar experiences.
The concert is performed in connection with Hezarfen Ensemble's first visit to Sweden, and the newly written works are premiered at this performance at Kulturbruket på Dal. The works will then be performed only once more, in Gothenburg, before the ensemble returns to Turkey.
