"Markerna" (the marches), as Dalsland was called for long periods, were a no-man's land where laws and rules were open to interpretation. This coincides with Kontinent Dalsland's vision to present current and boundless music on these historically enigmatic lands.
"Ingenmansland" (no man's land) is an in-between space, a place of encounters that simultaneously belongs to everyone and no one. It can be the space that arises when moving to a new country and the loss of a cultural context, it can be the spaces between composers, musicians and improvisers who meet in the Continent. It could be the spider's web that connects us all but also so easily spreads lies and alternative facts. "Ingenmansland" is also freedom: from conventions, demands, expectations, freedom from the expected and the familiar.
